Driven by ARROJO master stylist, Chrystoph Marten the ‘Arelquins’ editorial carves out a new aesthetic for dynamic hair shape and color.
The idea was to showcase avant-garde and ornamental hair through the two faced pantomime of modern day “Arlequins” – those consumed by riches and wealth, and those for whom diamond rings are the only salvation.
To encapsulate the idea, Chrystoph uses phenomenal technical ability to create diamond shaped sections and cold color as an oblique reference to the riches that consume these ‘Arlequins’.
The end images portray sensational pinned back updos: hair design to invigorate a new wave of romantic post punk within the ‘Arlequins’.
With militant clothing designed by Cloak, Naum and Derek Lam, the masquerade is deliciously dark. And through its ironic overtures, the shoot has a distilled essence of off-hand sexuality popping through every picture.
A bold new vision takes hold.
